‘House Rules is an entertaining story written in the style of a classic whodunit. The author’s voice is engaging and allows readers to get to know the main character from the start. The narrative flows smoothly and the tone is appropriate for the intended audience. The twist towards the end arrives unexpectedly, which will surprise and delight most readers.’

'I really loved the story, and I did not expect the wonderful double twist at the end there. I felt like I did after watching ‘The Sixth Sense’ for the first time - I immediately had to go back over the story and see how I had been tricked. It is very clever writing. It's amazing what assumptions are ingrained in us.’

'What I particularly liked was the descriptions and how accurate they were. For example, I know Frankfurt quite well and was surprised how well it was portrayed. Also cool was how all the Couch Surfing jargon was incorporated; in places it was as if I was talking to one of my guests! I’m always impressed how good authors are able to invent characters and then represent their lives in an authentic way, creating their whole environment—their friends, appearance, psychological problems, and so on. An exciting and interesting mix of reality and fiction.'

'The plot was great and kind of scary and the ending was SO UNEXPECTED.'
